My inner doomsday clock
Written for the ArtHaus Ensemble as part of the third edition of the ArtHaus Composition Atelier (2025), this work explores extended techniques and unconventional modes of performance that emerged through direct interaction with the musicians during the workshop sessions. As a result, the piece was conceived specifically for the ensemble, with the exchange between composer and performers playing a central role in shaping its musical material. While the title alludes to the famous Doomsday Clock, the work approaches the idea from a more subjective perspective. Rather than referring to a literal end of the world, it evokes an inner collapse: the erosion of personal subjectivity and the experience of an internal ending.
